HOW TO BOARD AND EXIT A SUP BOARD

Getting on and getting up on a SUP board takes a little prep work. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Check that the SUP board and paddle are the right size for you. If the board is too small it will feel tippy. If it’s too big, it will be difficult for you to maneuver!

Step 2: Properly load and secure any of your gear or equipment before attempting to board.

Step 3: Ensure the water is deep enough to accommodate the board fin once your full weight is on the board.

Step 4: Walk into the water with your paddle and bring the board close to your side. The nose of the board should face out into the open water.

Step 5: Place your paddle across the upper half of the board (perpendicular with the board). You’ll use the paddle as a brace to help balance your weight once boarding.
