Module 01 - Paddling Basics:

SUP BOARD CAPACITIES

Capsizing is a leading contributor to boating fatalities in the U.S. Always be cautious when loading a SUP board because overloading or improper load distribution will heighten the risk of you having a capsizing emergency. To stay safe (and stay dry!) you must know how much weight your SUP board is able to carry and you must know to balance the weight load.

SUP boards are not required to have a capacity plate attached to them. However, you can refer to the owner's manual or you could contact the manufacturer if you would like more information about your board’s capacities.
