FALL ARREST SYSTEMS (FAS) AND FULL BODY HARNESSES (FBH)
Get yourself a Fall Arrest System (FAS) that meets the standards established by the Treestand Manufacturers Association (TMA). A FAS is a full body harness that attaches you to the tree you’re climbing. These harnesses are easy to put on and they can save your life if you fall while climbing, if you stumble off your platform, or if you fall because of a treestand malfunction. Seriously, buy one and follow the manufacturer's instructions for proper use. Weirder things have happened than a human falling out of a tree.
